Duncan Round

Duncan is a Procurement specialist with a broad range of experience encompassing the food; non-food; retail; and drink channels. His expertise has been derived from a wide range of Industry sectors including foodservice, leisure, travel, contracting and the public sector. Duncan has a proven track record of delivering category profitability through a balance of cost control, revenue stream enhancement, quality, and service, pivoting from an effective mix of strategic and tactical activity.

During his career Duncan has built a wealth of knowledge by working with a diverse range of leading companies and brands operated by Forte, Granada, Compass and Aramark. He has achieved success through not only an eye to detail, but his negotiating skills under-pinned by an ability to ensure sustainability through cross functional collaboration and building effective supplier relationships.  

Since 2002 he has worked for his own company DRL Resource, providing procurement solutions and support, to numerous organisations, on a short or long term basis. Through a “fresh set of eyes” he has been instrumental in both driving costs down and considering revenue up opportunities, thereby enabling companies to achieve their business goals.
Originally Duncan trained at Hotel School in South Devon before entering operational management. To this day, the sharp end experience gained at that time has ensured a balanced considered approach in decision making.
